Wensleydale Sheep/Masham

Plucked with the Wensleydale combed wool, laid out extremely delicate and felted, beautiful surfaces are created. The wool is very suitable for all transparent felt objects, such as light objects and curtains. The individual long fibers (up to 20cm) begin to pucker again during felting, which results in an unmistakable surface structure. Furthermore, the sheen of the fibers is a specialty of this wool. Wensleydale wool is also suitable for spinning. It should be loosely spun, twisted and knitted so that the fibers retain their characteristic shine and the knitted fabric can show its strengths.
